The Actuarial Analyst in Operations Intelligence will focus on creating data-driven solutions to enhance and optimize operational processes at Discovery Insure. This includes improving efficiencies in claims, sales, and servicing processes using advanced statistical, actuarial, and data science techniques. The role also involves applying machine learning and generative AI to tackle a range of business challenges practically.

Responsibilities

• Enhance fraud detection models
• Develop algorithms for supplier scoring and evaluation
• Automate supplier appointments and allocation
• Utilize generative AI to improve business processes
• Conduct analytics on procurement, claims, and servicing
• Pilot and test AI innovations to improve efficiencies

Qualifications

• Matric (Essential)
• Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematical Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (Essential)
• Good progress on actuarial exams, preferably academically qualified
• 1-3 years of Research and Development experience in the insurance industry (Advantageous)
• Intermediate modeling, statistical, and analytical skills
• Intermediate proficiency in SQL, Python, and Radar
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Beginner experience with generative AI
